No Repeat, No Surrender*
The 9th Student Grade (abbreviated to 9SG) is the last of three grades which together make up the Intermediate Stage of the FWTS Training Programme.
The purpose of the 9SG programme is to round-off the whole body of skills & knowledge within this third layer of training. The final pieces are added for whole-body, close-range movement, knee-strikes are combined with the existing elbow-strikes, and you’ll get far better at moving under or over your opponents positions at all ranges.
Now that you can move effectively at different ranges, it’s time to develop a little unpredictability. In 9SG you’ll try not to repeat yourself, to use random tactics, different tools & techniques, and work at different distances to achieve your objective.
A lack of repetition makes for a tricky opponent, but you do have to be skilled at a wide range of options before mixing them all up. Now is the right time to try, and in doing so you’ll discover what you’re not so good at too. 🙂
*Sorry, couldn’t resist it. Gotta love a bit of classic Jean-Claude Van Damme action.
